Let’s dive into some more Personal Questions with Tre…
Question: How has your NFL experience been? Is it everything that you dreamed of as a kid?
Tre: “My NFL experience has been pretty up and down, started off on a high note being a high draft pick then battling some injuries rookie year made things difficult at times. Year two and three started to get more experience and playing much more. Year four things took a little bit of a turn for me, getting cut and having to move to a new team. This was my first time seeing the business side of the league which sucked. I grew up watching Sunday and Monday Night Football so to be apart of that is something that I never take for granted. Growing up dreaming of getting to the NFL, you don’t think about the hard side of the business. Things like getting cut or being a free agent isn’t always fun. For me, the beauty lies in the “ups and downs”. Remembering the hard times make the good times that much better.”
Question: What’s one piece of advice for guys dreaming to be in your shoes?
Tre: “No specific advice other than always having belief, always keeping your head down and working your hardest. Times where things might seem like they’re working against you, stay positive. There’s thousands of guys doing this, so why not you.”
Question: What do you enjoy doing off the field?
Tre: “I have a lot of interests, traveling, cycling, golfing and flying planes are a few. Football is the biggest thing in my life and consumes a lot of my time so finding hobbies are something that can take my mind off the game momentarily.

Question: How do you keep yourself motivated during a very long season?
Tre: “The ladder part of the year past week 10 things can get long. It’s easy to lose track of the details. Some of my best friends are guys in the league in the same position as me. Leaning on those guys is something that helps. We hold each other accountable and help keep each other motivated. We’re all going through the same things so having great dudes in my circle to lean on is huge.”
Question: Do you enjoy fashion, if so what are some of your favorite pieces?
Tre: “Well, the main thing that I don’t enjoy about fashion is how expensive it is. It’s fun to get creative and try to make dope outfits cheaper. I really do enjoy fashion though because I can express myself in unique ways. I can dress things up or down and enjoy the challenge of putting together outfits. My favorite pieces are nice simple things. I don’t need the loud, colorful Louis Vuitton jacket. I enjoy the subtle details that take more attention to notice.”
Question: Anything else unique about yourself you’d want people reading to know?
Tre: “I enjoy a lot of hobbies outside of football, I think real estate is something that I will be diving more into once my football career is over. That is something that I’ve already been working in when I have time.”
We hope you enjoyed the Velvet Steel Athletic Club Collaboration with Tre McKitty.
